A plumbing system is one of those important parts of our homes that we don't think about until it’s not functioning properly. While some plumbing issues are beyond your control, the majority of them are caused by carelessness. Your drains and pipes will be clogged as a result of your bad habits. Putting foreign objects down your drains or attempting a DIY job, can cause serious damage to your system.

Stuff That Will Cause Plumbing Problems:

  • Grease Poured Down The Drain

The worst thing you can do to your pipes is to pour grease down the drain. Grease or animal fat builds up in pipes over time, and will clog them.

  • Using Liquid Drain Cleaners

Many people believe that using liquid drain cleaners is one of the most important plumbing tips for clearing clogs. This is not necessarily the case. Liquid drain cleaners contain harsh chemicals that produce heat, that over time can cause pipes to become weak and crack.

  • Attempting Repairs on Your Own

Often times, when homeowners attempt DIY repairs, they end up causing more harm than good. Although hiring a skilled plumber can be expensive, you are more likely to make more costly mistakes if you attempt to tackle a large job on your own.

  • Leaving the Hose Connected In the Winter

One of the most valuable plumbing tips is to be sure to disconnect garden hoses during the winter. Prioritize disconnecting hoses, and turning off outdoor faucets as soon as summer ends. If you forget, the water in a hose that is left attached to a tap during the winter freezes, creating cracks in both the hose and the pipes.

  • Kitchen Waste Forced Down The Drain
Kitchen waste, such as rice, flour, potato peels, coffee and vegetable remains, should not be thrown down the drain because it may cause clogs. However we're just a phone call away if you’re already having issues.
