Ice on air conditioner line?

Ice on an AC unit.

Do you have ice on your air conditioner line? If you see ice on the outdoor line of your air conditioning unit, something is freezing. The reason it’s freezing is because the refrigerant in your air conditioner is much colder than it should be. That can happen for one of two reasons:

  • You have a leak in your system, and you have reduced refrigerant reflow, which is very cold.
  • You have very dirty equipment, which causes the refrigeration cycle not to work correctly.

Ice is a warning. If you watch it, you will notice you have a little to begin with, and then the amount grows. So, if you have ice anywhere on your system, just call Five Star! We would be happy to send a technician out to take a look at your problem.
