How A Heat Pump Works

Are you curious how heat pumps work?

Simply, heat pumps are an efficient way to heat and cool your home all year round! During a hot summer day, your heat pump acts like an air conditioner so it removes the excess heat from your home and evaporates it into the air outside. When it’s colder outside, the process just reverses. So, your heat pump heats or cools the air, while your air handler has the important job of circulating air throughout the home.

In colder climates that require a lot of heat during the winter, the heat pump is paired with a gas furnace, creating what’s called a dual-fuel system. A dual-fuel system can warm your home with gas or electricity which means you can keep your family comfortable in your home no matter what temperature it is outside!
